Alberto Sampaio was undoubtedly an eminent historian who, born in Guimarães and buried in Vila Nova de Famalicão, spent his life between these two municipalities. At his home in Boamense, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, he studied and wrote the work that he bequeathed to us, and part of his rich collection can be found in the Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipal Archive.
