Town twinning links the municipality to each other through a formal twinning agreement with a view to cooperation and mutual understanding between its institutions and citizens. Twinning processes encourage the exchange of experiences on a variety of issues of common interest, providing an opportunity to foster mutual trust, friendship and understanding.
