Exhibition “JORGE. My son’s drawings gives rise to a catalogue

The exhibition “JORGE. My son’s drawings”, made up of 80 drawings from the artistic collection of Jorge, son of Camilo Castelo Branco and Ana Plácido, and currently on display at the Camillian Studies Centre in Seide, has given rise to a catalogue with the same name.
The work, which brings together the research around this exhibition, will be presented this Friday, January 24, at 17h30, precisely at the Camillian Studies Centres, with a guided tour of the exhibition and a round table discussion on the theme "Behind the exhibition JORGE".
My son’s drawings: discoveries and research methodologies’, with the presence of the scientific coordinator of the Camillian Studies Centre, Sérgio Guimarães Sousa, and the exhibition's curator, Stephanie Gil Franco.
The exhibition commemorating the Bicentenary of the Birth of Camilo Castelo Branco, “JORGE. My son’s drawings”, is made up of artworks from the collection of 300 drawings created by Jorge Castelo Branco.
The drawings, exhibited for the first time, reveal his imagination and transport the visitor to the daily life and 19th century life of Camilo Castelo Branco's family. The exhibition is free to enter and can be visited until August 31 2025, from Monday to Friday, from 9h30 to 17h00, in the exhibition room of the Camillian Studies Centre, located in the Famalicense parish of Seide S. Miguel.
It should also be noted that at the end of this month, also as part of the celebrations for the Bicentenary of Camilo Castelo Branco's birth, issue 15 of the Camillian Studies collection will be presented, entitled ‘Revisions of the Tragic in Camilo Castelo Branco’, which includes a set of studies dedicated to the revision of the tragic in Camilo, signed by recognised Camillianists and young academics.
The presentation will take place on January 31, at 17h30 at the Camilo House-Museum.
