06-03-2025
More than 1,500 children and young people from the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão will take part in the third Eco-Schools Town Hall Meeting on 21 March, which will be held at Quinta Pedagógica de Bairro in Famalicão.

The event will be marked by the presentation of the Famalicão Eco-Schools Anthem, a challenge launched to the schools with the aim of promoting literary creation and stimulating the participants' critical and creative sense. The class with the winning lyrics, from the Padre Benjamim Salgado Secondary School, will be on stage together with singer Maria Gil to present what will be the anthem for generations to come.

All the participants will have a series of workshops, animations and activities to enjoy throughout the day.

The meeting will be attended by Francisco Teixeira, Director of Communication and Environmental Citizenship at the Portuguese Environment Agency; José Archer, President of the Blue Flag Association for the Environment and Education; and Margarida Gomes, National Coordinator of the Eco-Schools Programme.

Vila Nova de Famalicão is the municipality with the most Eco-Schools in the country, with 79 educational institutions honoured.
