Municipality of Famalicão joins partners in local action group under European project "IN4GREEN" - Portal do Município de Vila Nova de Famalicão - Portugal

The Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão has set up a local action group to collaborate on the "IN4Green - Greener Industrial Cities" project, developed under the European cooperation programme for the urban and sustainable development of cities, URBACT IV.

The main objective of IN4GREEN involves promoting the transition to a green and sustainable economy, in order to strengthen industry and make the territory more competitive and inclusive for all citizens, and is centred on the fulfilment of the cohesion policy PO2 - A Greener Europe.

The local action group includes organisations that will collaborate in the actions to be developed in the municipality of Famalicão until 2025, including: Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Norte (CCDR-N); Portugal Foods; Tecmeat; ATP - Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal; CITEVE - Centro Tecnológico Têxtil e Vestuário; CESPU - Cooperativa de Ensino Superior, Politécnico e Universitário; Quadrilátero; Eixo Atlântico; IPCA - Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave; Universidade do Minho; AIMAP - Associação dos Industriais Metalúrgicos, Metalomecânicos e Afins de Portugal; FamaGrow; and Comunidade Intermunicipal do Ave (CIM do Ave).

URBACT is a European cooperation programme for the urban and sustainable development of cities. The action plan began in June 2023 and runs until the end of 2025, involving cities from eight other European Union countries.
