Series of Meetings on 150 years of the Workers' Fraternity meets at Bernardino Machado Museum

The Bernardino Machado Museum will host the meeting "The Ideological Evolution of 19th century Social Movements", on March 25th, in what will be the second session of the Cycle of Meetings "Organization, Action and Social Thought in the 150 years of the Workers' Fraternity". Organized by the Institute of Contemporary History of the New University of Lisbon, the event has two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, which start, respectively, at 10h00 and 14h00.
In the morning, Pablo Sanchez, from the Institute of Contemporary History of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Lisbon (IHC-FCSH-UNL) will address "Dinámicas radicales: culturas políticas e identidades populares en las Juntas urbanas (España, décadas de 1830 y 1840)", followed by the intervention of the scientific coordinator of Museu Bernardino Machado, Norberto Cunha, who will talk about "Republicanos e socialistas (1904-1913)". The session ends with a commentary by Maria Alice Samara, from the IHC-FCSH-UNL.
In the afternoon session, the protagonists will be Carlos Hernandez Quero, from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Cláudia Figueiredo from the IHC-FCSH-UNL, who will address, respectively, "'Esos burgueses bribones que nos roban, nos matan y nos tocan los cojones'. Imaginario y lenguaje de los primeros anarquistas madrileños" and "Do Consenso ao Conflito: a radicalização do movimento operario através do teatro (Portugal, 1850-1926)". Joana Dias Pereira of the IHC-FCSH-UNL, who will make a final comment, will close the meeting.
