Values of sporting ethics have reached more than 1600 children

19-12-2024
The values of ethics in sport have reached Famalicão's kindergartens. The municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, through its Sports department, has developed an awareness campaign that has reached more than 1600 children in Famalicão, aged between 3 and 5, in an action that aims to instil good sporting behaviour from an early age.

The campaign, carried out between October and November this year in partnership with the municipality's seven public school groups, involved the distribution of wristbands with the phrase ‘Respect for Sport’ in fun activities as part of the municipal project ‘Brincar a Torto e a Direito’ and an information pamphlet aimed at parents that appeals to values such as fair play, respect for others, mutual help, tolerance, among other principles that are transversal to life in society.

It's worth remembering that the Vila Nova de Famalicão municipality was recently honoured with the Ethics in Sport Flag and the Good Practices Award by the Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth (IPDJ) for the work of the municipality's Sports Office in promoting and implementing the Ethics in Sport strategy. The awards were a public recognition of the actions carried out in Famalicense in terms of promoting ethical values in sport and social inclusion, developing civic skills and social responsibility, and promoting positive values in the various sports and age groups, anchored in the National Plan for Ethics in Sport.
