‘Luso-Spanish Relations (1873-1926)’ under discussion at the Bernardino Machado Museum

The sessions take place monthly - on Fridays at 7pm - at the Bernardino Machado Museum, which is dedicated to preserving the life and work of the statesman. Admission is free and participants are entitled to a certificate of attendance.
The initiative will start with a session on ‘Iberianism, Hispanicism and Frontiers’, given by historian Sérgio Campos Matos, on Friday 24 January.
This will be followed on 21 February by the conference ‘The Iberian Zollverein from the perspective of Ezequiel de Campos’ with Teresa Nunes; on 21 March, the scientific coordinator of the Bernardino Machado Museum, Norberto Ferreira da Cunha, will talk about ‘The 5th of October 1910 in the Madrid press’; On 11 April, António José Queiroz will talk about ‘The Mountain and Portuguese-Spanish relations (1910-1926)’; on 30 May, Armando Malheiro will talk about ‘Relations between the First Republic and the Spanish Monarchy (1911-1919)’; on 20 June, the theme will be ‘Cultural relations with Galicia and Catalonia during the First Republic’, António Pires Ventura; on 26 September, ‘Diplomatic relations between Portugal and Spain in the face of the Monarchist restoration (1910-1919)’ will be on the table with Miguel António Santos; and in the eighth and final session, on 24 October, Susana Relvas will round off this year's edition of the Cycle of Conferences with the theme ‘António Sardinha's cultural relations with Spain’.
It should be noted that the Bernardino Machado Museum's Cycle of Conferences is accredited as an 18-hour training course by the CFAEVNF - Training Centre of the Vila Nova de Famalicão Schools Association (recipients: 2nd cycle, 3rd cycle and secondary), and is transversal to all subject groups.
