The refurbishment works at the Famalicão Health Centre are about to begin and the three Family Health Units (USF) and the D. Maria II Continued Care Unit (UCC) currently installed in the building will begin to be transferred this week to the temporary facilities located in the Old Regulator, at the top of Rua José Carvalho.
The move will be phased, guaranteeing continuity of services to the population: USF Alto da Vila will move this Thursday and Friday, the 10th and 11th, USF Nova Estação will move on the 14th, 15th, finally, USF Famalicão I, and UCC D. Maria II on the 22nd and 23rd of April.
On the days when each USF is moving, only open appointments will be open at the Health Centre's current premises.
The USFs will be operational in the temporary premises on the working day following the moving schedule, divided into the following blocks:
USF Alto da Vila, from 14 April, in Block 1;
USF Nova Estação, from 16 April, in Block 2;
USF Famalicão I and UCC D. Maria II, on 24 April, in Blocks 3 and 4, respectively.
It should be noted that the temporary facilities have 60 car parking spaces exclusively for users, drop-off areas near the entrances to the Units and exclusive parking for health professionals. They are also covered by public road transport: Line 155, from Aldeia Nova (Brufe) to Escola D. Maria II (Gavião).
The Town Hall and the Administration of the ULS do Médio-Ave ensure that the transition will be carried out with the minimum of disruption, maintaining the quality of the services provided to the population.
It should also be noted that the three USFs have more than 40,000 registered users. The home care provided by the D. Maria II UCC reaches more than 66,000 users.
