Agenda Municipal / Dance Memorial do Convento
Sat 29 Oct
Casa das Artes programme
Casa das Artes | Grand Auditorium - 21h30
Admission: 6 euros. Students, Quadrilátero Cultural Card and Seniors (aged 65 and over): 3 euros | Rating: M/12 | Duration: 85 min
The traces of three stories of disparate characters - D. João V and his promise to build a colossal Convent; Friar Lourenço and his dream of flying; Baltasar and Blimunda who want nothing more than the simplicity of the love that unites them. Thus arises a unique narrative fluency provoked by the events that cross their lives and that question the most complex human attitude: the will. Stories once told by Saramago's intense and disturbing writing, which illustrate the inexhaustible contemporaneity of a unique work. And so... Once upon a time, there was the ballet of Memorial do Convento.
Note: The presentation of Memorial do Convento will be complemented by two activities: a rehearsal open to schools and senior citizens on 28th October (Friday, 3pm) and a movement workshop based on the novel, for children aged 8-12, on the morning of Saturday 29th October (10h00)
