Starting from the centrepiece of the first piece that Maura Morales and Michio Woirgardt created for ITZ-Intranzyt Cia® in 2023, we challenged these two artists to build a second painting, a second full evening piece, in what will become a triptych, about the Body, the Will and Being. This second painting will also reflect on and work on the importance that Schopenhauer, among others, emphasised about Aesthetics and Art and the importance of art as a way of transcending the will. It will start with aesthetic contemplation, especially of movement and music, as a way of experiencing a moment of freedom from the will, and from there the elaboration of a choreographic and musical score that feeds these reflections. Schopenhauer believed that aesthetic experience, unlike other forms of experience that are linked to the will and individual desires, offered a temporary escape from the direct influence of the will. This is what we will try to work on.
