Municipal Youth Council meets in the Town Hall

23-01-2024
The Municipal Youth Council (CMJ) met yesterday at the Paços do Concelho to discuss the main challenges and ambitions of young people in Famalicão. Representatives of youth associations, academic movements and party youth attended the plenary session from the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão.

"Municipal policies aimed at young people only make sense if we are in permanent dialogue with them," said the Mayor, Mário Passos, who addressed the CMJ on current municipal policies and programmes and discussed their main difficulties and concerns with young people, accompanied by the Councillor for Youth, Luísa Azevedo.

It should be remembered that the Municipal Youth Council is a consultative body of Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council, through the Youth department, which aims to encourage young people to participate in the civic, cultural and political life of the municipality, providing them with the means to study and debate the most diverse issues related to youth. More than a consultative body, the CMJ is a space for dialogue, democratic and pluralistic, whose main objective is to involve young people in the life of their community.
