Small auditorium | 21h45
Admission: 4 euros. Free for members of the Cineclube de Joane | Original title: A Arte de Morrer Longe (Portugal, 2021) | Directed by: Júlio Alves | Cast: Pedro Lacerda, Ana Moreira, Custódia Gallego, João Lagaro, Luísa Cruz | Rating: M/12 | Running time: 90 min
Can the most peaceful pet, the tortoise, cause a series of events that will completely change the life of a Lisbon couple? After dividing all their belongings, Arnaldo and Bárbara have one last decision to make before formalizing their separation: what to do with their tortoise? Between indecisions and half-baked solutions, between accidental robberies, police stations, plastic nature and misunderstandings, the fate of a simple tortoise postpones the separation. Knowing that when they return it to nature, their relationship will end, are they really willing to take that last step? Adapting a work by the writer Mário de Carvalho, director Júlio Alves rehearses a bittersweet comedy about marital relationships, break-ups and communication. A Arte de Morrer Longe premiered at the most recent edition of Indie Lisboa.
