Training in Basic Life Support for more than 500 collaborators

The municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão is promoting, in coordination with the local volunteer fire brigades (Famalicenses, Famalicão and Riba de Ave), training in Basic Life Support for 533 employees, who work in the municipality's schools.
The training is taking place during the school break period, with the purpose of providing the schools' staff with knowledge and skills to act in case of an emergency, so that it is possible to act in the pre-emergency phase, i.e., the period between the alert and the arrival of the rescue means.
These training sessions teach how to act in cases of medical emergency with resuscitation manoeuvres, namely which protocols to adopt and how to act in cases of respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest and airway obstruction.
