A village lost in the foothills of the Serra Amarela, Gerês, and its community life, one of the few remaining integral experiences of agro-pastoral communitarianism in Portugal, will be destroyed by the dammed waters of a large "strategic" dam. Integration will be difficult, but finally achieved, and Campos records the final tasks, such as the last corn harvest, the last procession, the hopeless maintenance of the last traditional dykes. The documentary was nominated for the Critics' Prize at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1972. In addition, António Campos' short film "The Invention of Love" (1965, 25 min) will be screened: On every corner of the city, on the walls of the bars outside public buildings, in the windows of buses, even on that ruined wall between adverts for radio sets and detergents, in the window of the small shop where no one enters, in the atrium of the railway station, which was home to our hope of escape, a poster denounces our love.
