Santa Claus has arrived in Famalicão and will be staying at the Solidarity Hut to welcome the solidarity of Famalicenses and all those who visit Praça 9 de Abril these days.
The figure we are used to recognising as the one who distributes presents is in Famalicão to receive food and hygiene items, which will then be delivered to needy families in the municipality who have been identified by the municipality's Social Action teams.
‘The Solidarity Hut will be Santa Claus' home in Famalicão and will bring joy to all the children who visit him here. But it's also here to receive gifts from Famalicenses who can donate food and hygiene products for those who need them most,’ challenged the mayor, Mário Passos, this Sunday at the opening of the doors of Santa Claus's new home in Famalicão.
Santa Claus can be visited every day between 10h00 and 14h30 and between 14h00 and 18h00 until December 24. On the 24th, visiting hours at the Solidarity Hut - not least because of Father Christmas's duties distributing presents - are between 10h00 and 12h30.
With the arrival of Santa Claus at the Solidarity Hut, the Christmas Village in Vila Nova de Famalicão is now complete. Mário Passos therefore invites you to visit the city until January 5. ‘We have a very diverse and complete Christmas Village so that you can let yourself be infected by the magic of the city.’
It's worth remembering that the municipality, in partnership with local associations, traders and partners, has a number of attractions in the city centre. Visitors to Famalicão will find the Tree and Ferris Wheel, the Ice Rink, the Carousel and Christmas Train, the Food Court and the Christmas Market. The Paper Circus is also in Parque 1° de Maio, showing the show ‘Histórias de Maria’ (Mary's Stories).
