This month, the
Famalicão Made IN municipal programme reaches its first decade of existence and October will therefore be a month of celebration, with the
Famalicão Economic Forum on the 22nd being the highlight of the commemorative programme promoted by the municipality.
The municipality of Famalicão and Jornal de Notícias, which in this year’s edition of the Forum will debate issues related to artificial intelligence and the digital transition and how emerging technologies are transforming the business and economic landscape, promote the initiative, scheduled for 2pm at Casa das Artes.
The event, which will take place under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Creativity. Can the copy surpass the original?”, is free of charge, but subject to compulsory registration (link available soon) until the room is full or until the end of 21 October.
The month of October, which kicks off today, also includes various initiatives associated with the 10th anniversary of Famalicão Made IN, a programme launched in 2014 with the aim of boosting the economic performance of the municipality of Famalicão, promoting its entrepreneurial genetics, attracting new investments and helping businesspeople and entrepreneurs to develop business projects.
This is the case with the third edition of the Growth Conference - a conference that shares important tips and trends for business growth - organised by Agência Drible and taking place today at Casa das Artes. The launch, on 4 October, of the Made IN Hackathon, which will once again see the municipality's industry presenting challenges to technology start-ups.
On 23 and 24 October, the Lusíada University of Famalicão will host another exhibition of My Project is an Entrepreneur, an initiative that seeks to foster entrepreneurship by highlighting the most enterprising Professional Aptitude Tests taken by final-year students on professional courses.
October also marks the start of a new cycle of free training activities in the FAB LAB space at Universidade Lusíada, starting on the 26th, aimed at students, entrepreneurs and citizens in general, as well as companies, communities and educational and knowledge institutions.
Throughout the month, Famalicão Made IN will also be present in the municipality's schools, with entrepreneurship sessions for the school public.
‘Famalicão Made IN is to be congratulated. Ten years on, it's undeniable that this is a hugely successful project, recognised as a fundamental partner by the entire entrepreneurial and business community in the municipality,’ says the mayor Mário Passos.
The mayor also highlights the recent change in strategy and the leap from ‘Made In to Created In’ as a good example of ‘how attentive we are to new realities and how much we want to continue to be a strong ally for the economic and social development of Vila Nova de Famalicão’.
It should also be remembered that the dynamics of Famalicão Made IN were one of the arguments that earned Vila Nova de Famalicão the title of European Entrepreneurial Region 2024.
