The SQUARE festival is coming to Vila Nova de Famalicão on 31 January, with shows by emerging artists such as Mynda Guevara, SJU, Verde Prato, Planta Carnívora and Fidju Kitxora.
The initiative, part of Braga'25 - Portuguese Capital of Culture and coordinated by Lovers & Lollypops, is a festival-convention that celebrates music born on the shores of the Atlantic, exploring sounds from Africa, America and Europe, in a celebration of diversity through a meeting space for emerging talent and new trends in music from these territories.
SQUARE's programme in the city of Famalicão includes shows at the Casa das Artes de Vila Nova de Famalicão (Mynda Guevara, at 16h00, and SJU, at 17h00), at the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation (Verde Prato, 18h00), at CRU - Espaço Cultural (Planta Carnívora, 19h00) and at Praça - Mercado Municipal (Fidju Kitxora, 20h00).
The SQUARE Festival, now in its first edition, is the result of a partnership between the municipalities of the Urban Quadrilateral, made up of Barcelos, Braga, Guimarães and Vila Nova de Famalicão. It takes place from 29 January to 1 February 2025, with a programme centred on Braga - this year's Portuguese Capital of Culture - that also includes a series of shows curated by SQUARE and its partners in the Minho cities of Guimarães, Barcelos and Famalicão.
Access to the festival's events is subject to the purchase of a ticket, available at www.squarefestival.pt.
