This year, the municipality's support, through the ‘Casa Feliz - Apoio à Renda’ programme, reaches 344 families, in a municipal investment of almost 356 thousand euros.

The support, which is aimed at families in a situation of economic hardship, is divided into four brackets - A, B, C and D - which are equivalent to monthly support for 12 months totalling 125 euros (84 applicants), 95 euros (105 applicants), 65 euros (96 applicants) and 50 euros (59 applicants), respectively.

This is support that ‘makes a difference to the lives of families in the municipality’, says Famalicense mayor Mário Passos, also praising the success of the municipal ‘Casa Feliz’ programme, which ‘is certainly one of the municipality's most far-reaching social supports’. 

It's worth remembering that the application process for rent support is submitted by registering on the ‘Casa Feliz Programme - Rent Support’ platform, at https://rendas.famalicao.pt, where you can also consult previous years' editions and the dates of applications for the following year, when they are open.

The recent changes to the Municipal Rent Support Regulations mean that exceptional and duly substantiated requests can be submitted outside of the normal application period, which runs from September to October. This exceptional support can be submitted throughout the year, takes effect from the month following the submission of the application and is valid until the end of the corresponding calendar year.
