On 18, 19 and 20 March, Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council is organising a fair for the municipality's 9th grade students to find out about all the training on offer at the educational institutions in the Local Education and Training Network, helping them to choose their area of study for the next training cycle and making it easier for them to make a vocational decision.
The ‘Secondary Education Fair 2025 - Choose Your Future!’ will take place at the Famalicão IN Hub, in Vale São Cosme, organised by the municipality in partnership with the Local Education and Training Network.
Throughout a series of courses, around 1,300 students will be invited to explore, in a practical and engaging way, the entire secondary education offer, through activities, interactive spaces, contact with professionals, games, challenges, information on courses and subjects, career paths, and access to courses and curricula with the aim of helping students to reflect on their interests, values and aptitudes, encouraging them to make choices that are more in line with their life goals.
Various vocational areas will be explored - Arts, Design, Communication and Services, Information Technology, Science and Health, Electronics and Electrical Technology, Metalworking Technology, Management Support - as well as the different alternatives and teaching components.
‘We are a municipality with a strong export vocation, where knowledge and creation are differentiating factors in company profiles and we want the training offer and the students‘ choice for their future to be a conscious and informed decision’, points out the mayor, Mário Passos, who will be at the event on the first day, next Tuesday 18 March, from 09h30.
The fair highlights the diversity of education options available in the municipality, helping students to get to know the offerings of local schools and training centres, from regular education courses to vocational training routes.
