Next week, Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council will begin work on the Street Market park, with a view to improving the lighting and electrification of the space.
The work will be carried out in phases, has an execution time of 120 days and involves a municipal investment of around 166 thousand euros.
The contract aims to significantly improve the lighting in the park.
The work on the low-voltage network also includes the installation of electricity points for use by market traders, allowing them to power electrical equipment such as scales.
‘These are works that will improve the quality and safety of the space, benefiting the traders and famalicenses who choose our weekly fair for their shopping, but also all those who use this car park for parking on other days,’ points out the Mayor, Mário Passos.
During the course of the work there will be some restrictions on parking.
On market days, there will also be a phased adaptation in order to minimise the impact on the weekly market.
