Famalicão's public transport service keeps the same routes, timetables and fares in 2022

The public bus transport service in Vila Nova de Famalicão will remain with the same routes, timetables, fares and passes. After the cessation of services by ARRIVA Portugal, Transdev now ensures passenger transport in the usual way, following the public contracting procedure carried out by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, as Transport Authority, which ensured the continuity of public passenger transport by road in Famalicão.

In spite of the change of operator, a good part of the used vehicles will continue, for the time being, until the new image is put in place, with the visual appearance of ARRIVA. The Senior Pass and the Student Pass continue to function in the usual way.

The urban line VOLTAS returned on January 3rd, uninterrupted, between 7h30 and 19h00 on working days, with the same routes as before, connecting the various public services in Vila Nova de Famalicão through an urban circular route.

The timetables of Transdev operated routes in Famalicão are available for consultation in the Vila Nova de Famalicão municipality portal at www.famalicao.pt, in the tab "Residents", option "Mobility".

"We know the degree of importance of this service in the daily life of famalicenses and we are sensitive to their concerns" highlights the Mayor, Mário Passos. "In 2022, the people of Famalicão will continue to be served by a public transport of passengers, without increased costs, nor changes in routes and schedules, and with the addition of Voltas" adds the mayor.

It should be noted that this year will mark the start of the "Mobi.Ave" project, where Famalicão plans to invest 54 million euros over the next eight years to ensure an efficient public transport service for passengers in the municipality, through a new inter-municipal network designed between the municipalities of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Trofa and Santo Tirso.
