The Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão has signed a co-operation agreement with the Directorate-General for the Administration of Justice that allows the Famalicão Court to benefit from a series of maintenance interventions carried out by the municipality.
The protocol in question, signed by the mayor, Mário Passos, and the director-general of the Directorate-General for the Administration of Justice, Ana Claúdia Cáceres, provides for the local authority to carry out work in the areas of construction, electricity, sanitary water and sewage, helping to improve the quality of the facilities and, consequently, the operating conditions of the court services.
As well as maintaining the interior of the premises, without structural alterations or changes to construction and functional methods, the protocol also provides for the periodic cleaning of roofs and the rainwater drainage system.
Mário Passos emphasises that this is yet another example of the municipality's willingness to guarantee the smooth running of public services considered essential to the population, even those that are not directly under the authority of the municipality and are the responsibility of the Central Administration.
‘As we've already shown in areas such as health and education, here too we want to be a solution rather than a problem, helping to improve the services provided to Famalicenses,’ said the mayor.
