‘The year 2025 will certainly be challenging, but we will continue to work with the same determination and focus to ensure the development of the municipality and the well-being and quality of life of the people of Famalicão.’ This message was conveyed yesterday by the Mayor of Famalicão at the traditional Kings' Day gathering, which brings together the municipality's municipal family every year.
Mário Passos reviewed the work carried out over the last year, recalling the historic municipal investment of more than 10 million euros directed towards the realisation of various works and projects in the municipality's 49 parish communities.
The New Year will also set the tone for the start of a new tour that will take Mário Passos around the borough's parishes. The mayor will set aside an afternoon each week to listen to the ‘protagonists’ of each parish, exchanging views with educational and social agents and the leaders of associative movements, but also to visit work that has been done and discuss future projects and priority investments. The first visit will take place on the 14th, in Bairro.
Proximity has been one of the strongest features of Mário Passos' first term as mayor of Famalicão. The dialogue and cooperation with which the municipal executive has worked with the Parish Councils was also highly praised at this Sunday's dinner.
It should also be remembered that this is one of the initiatives most cherished by the municipality's mayors, who also get together every year for the Crafts and Gastronomy Fair and the traditional get-together that marks Mayors' Day.
